ART!*

I was going to reblog this from my post here, but I can’t seem to find it/reblog it . So I’m going to repost this instead. It’s a painting I did 2 years ago entitled: Society’s Beauty / Modern La Gioconda. The original painting, as you’re all very familiar of, is an oil work during the Renaissance by Leonardo da Vinci (who is actually celebrating his 561st birthday today) , that is very iconic in the field of fine arts which, for me, simply represents the simplicity and elegance of the women during their age. The woman on the painting is actually Lisa del Giocondo and not (as what some ‘theory’ say) Leonardo himself.

I made this own version of mine (aside from the other one I did which does not have any meaning in it) as a representation of the difference of the ladies of the Golden Age and the women of today’s mechanical age fed by consumerism, modernism and the media.

edit: I’m planning on repainting this one once I’ve rummaged over my files.

Struggled so much on the anatomy of her face as I decided to make her look more “raw” to match the mood of the entire painting.
