ART!*

So I saw this Facebook status of a friend of mine few moments ago saying that someone attempted to commission him for their band’s logo and pay 50php. 

And I was like, “HOLY SHIT, MAN.” I mean, c’mon, 50 php? Nigga, you ain’t buyin’ McSavers here, we talkin’ dayum art shit, man. 

There’s a story of mine similar to this. Let’s name my client ‘Laquisha’. So Laquisha here emailed asking me to commission a painting. So I told her the rates and she said that she’d pay me a bit lower than my given rates, I asked why and her reason was as dumb as a nigga buying spaghetti from a burger joint. This was her reason: 

‘digital painting naman po eh, so medyo mas madali, pwede *insert value here* na lang ibayad ko?’

I was enraged, I never replied to that selfish bitch. I hope people can realize the efforts made by artists and that they should appreciate and think of it just for a second that what we do isn’t fucking easy.
